One of the most common Sequence submission formats is the FASTA format. The header line must begin with a greater than sign ">" then any text can follow up to 80 characters.
The preceding lines contain the sequence, with no numbers or spaces.
Both DNA and protein sequences can be written in FASTA format. Amino acids must obey IUPAC rules
