In order to perform an electronic
cDNA library screen, the EST sequences retrieved in this way can be used as
queries in a BLASTN search of dbEST to identify over-lapping ESTs. This
procedure can be reiterated with the newly identified ESTs until no additional
hits are found. The ESTs isolated can be assembled into sequence contigs using
computer softwares.
