This preface describes the online documentation and online help available to users of SeqWeb Version 2.0. It also describes how to access GCG technical support services.

This online documentation is organized as follows:

Chapter 1, Getting Started, describes the minimum SeqWeb Requirements and basic Window Layout. It also provides a Quick Start overview of how to use SeqWeb and walks through an Example Analysis.
Chapter 2, SeqWeb Basics, explains the basic components of SeqWeb, including the various SeqWeb Managers and how projects are used to organize sequence data and analysis results. This chapter also explains how to select and run a SeqWeb program.
Chapter 3, The Sequence Manager, provides more specific information about adding, editing, deleting, and saving sequences.
Chapter 4, The Job Manager, explains how to keep track of your program runs and analyses.
Chapter 5, The Results Manager, describes how to view and interpret program results.
Appendix A, Web Browser Recommendations, contains information about using Netscape and Internet Explorer with SeqWeb.
Appendix B, Preferences, explains how to specify your local system settings for displaying and saving results.
Appendix C, For SeqLab and Command-Line Wisconsin Package Users, contains information about using SeqWeb output with these interfaces.

Online Help

Online help is available throughout the SeqWeb interface as follows:

General Help	Click the help icon in the bottom frame to access the entire set of Help topics.
Program Help	Click the book icon in the upper right corner of a program to obtain help for the specific program you are using.
Program Parameter Help	Click a parameter name to obtain help for that specific program parameter.
Menu Help	Many SeqWeb functions also offer online help from the menu.
